Gylfi Sigurdsson is currently out on bail following his arrest on the 16th of July, 2016 for allegedly abusing minors.
In the month of July, 2021, a pro soccer player of Everton FC was arrested for an offense involving child sexual sex. The player who was not identified was later released with bail.
In the aftermath, Icelandic international player Gylfi Sigurdsson was named as the player under investigation. He was also questioned by the police.
Sigurdsson began his professional career by participating in Reading in the Championship. He was a part of 1899 Hoffenheim in 2010 and after that he relocated into Swansea City.
Then, he began to play with Tottenham Hotspur, they bought the club for $8 million. In 2014, that he was acquired from Everton FC.

Gylfi Sigurdsson isn’t in jail. The Swedish singer was granted bail following his arrest on July 16th in the year 2021.
A member of the Greater Manchester police didn’t have to release his name. However the club he played for Everton FC had addressed that the suspension of a senior player.
Gylfi was later dropped from Everton’s last Premier League squad for the 2021-22 season on the 10th of September in 2021.

Then, a few days later, the office of the club announced that the midfielder had been released from prison and was in custody, and his family members were there to assistance.

The report from the Greater Manchester Police read: “Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on Friday 16 July 2021 on suspicion of sexual offenses against the minors”.
They also said the fact that “He is on police bail pending further investigations”. Police also raided his home, and the investigation is not over.

There are reports that Everton has offered Gylfi Sigurdsson with a secure house in which he’s living with his wife and family.
It is reported that the Icelandic football player has also been identified as not active on his Twitter handle. He has not shared any content to his Instagram handle which has 227 000 followers since June 7, 2021.
