Among teenagers, YouTube is more popular than TikTok.

Teenagers still enjoy YouTube, even though the days of Nyan Cat and Salad Fingers are over.

According to a recent Pew Research Center survey, YouTube is the most widely used social networking site among youths between the ages of 13 and 17. They discovered that 19% of the surveyed teenagers, or 95% of them, use YouTube “absolutely constantly.” Teenagers’ use of YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, WhatsApp, Reddit, and Tumblr was surveyed for the study. They might remember to include BeReal the next time buy youtube subscribers.

The success of YouTube demonstrates that teenagers still have a thirst for the long-form content available on the platform, contrary to the widespread belief that TikTok has caused among the youth population. Just take a look at how well-liked the platform’s video essays are.

TikTok, the king of short-form content, was revealed to be the second most popular platform by Pew, with 67 percent of teenagers claiming to use it. 15% of users of TikTok claim they use it “nearly constantly.” Given that Gen Z is the first generation of digital natives, it seems obvious that TikTok and YouTube are the most popular video platforms among teenagers. This shows how much video content Gen Z consumes. Additionally, YouTube is more accessible to a larger range of teenagers because it doesn’t need users to create accounts or set up algorithms, in contrast to other platforms on our list.

With teens, Facebook usage is still declining. According to the poll, “now, 32% of teens report ever using Facebook, down 39% during 2014–15, when 71% claimed they ever used the platform.” They also discovered a decline in Twitter and Tumblr usage since its peak in 2014.

However, there might be a change in how frequently young people use social media until the oldest members of Generation Alpha reach adolescence in 2023. Early research indicates that Gen Alpha is already reducing their online time.
